Job Description
Design of pressure vessels and heat exchangers as per ASME, TEMA and API standards.
Design custom pressure parts such as custom flanges and nozzles.
Calculate Nozzle load data and foundation loading data.
Header box design for air cooled heat exchangers.
Extract information like, thickness, weld details, loading data, COG etc., from PVElite or COMPRESS calculations and provide it to the drafting team for preparing GA and detail fabrication drawings.
Review and extract tube length, baffle cut, baffle orientation, tube pattern etc., from HTRI datasheet and provide it to the drafting team for preparing GA and detail fabrication drawings.
Guide the draftsman to prepare weld maps for equipment’s.
Review and check drawings prepared by drafting team and make sure the drawings are good for manufacturing use.
Apply broad technical skills and expertise to solve complex problems.
Review project specifications and customer deliverables.
Participate in design review meetings.
Review documents like P&ID, General Arrangement drawings, Vendor drawings, datasheets and technical studies.
Prepare equipment datasheet.
Review thermal datasheet for heat exchanger design purpose.
Prepare detailed Bill of Materials and Tubesheet Hole Pattern drawing.
Coordinate with engineers to resolve queries & other problems encountered during manufacturing.
Maintain CRS sheet and document transmittal list for each project.
Job Requirements
Broad knowledge in pressure vessel and heat exchanger analysis programs such as PV Elite, COMPRESS and HTRI.
Bachelor Degree in a related Engineering Discipline from recognized university.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, Liquefied Natural Gas, or related industries.
Broad knowledge in industry standards, specification and codes such as ASME Sec VIII, Div. 1 & 2, TEMA, API.
Mechanical properties for common materials of construction used in equipment’s such as carbon steel, low temperature carbon steels, austenitic stainless steel, duplex and super duplex stainless steels.
Knowledge in thermal design of heat exchangers is an added advantage.
Strong knowledge in welding and details to be shown in manufacturing drawings.
Hands on experience in checking of detail fabrication drawings and sound knowledge in piping design.
Demonstrated ability to interface with other engineering disciplines, such as Process, Quality, Fabrication etc.,
Participate in Layout Model Reviews, design reviews, risk assessments, HAZOPs.
Strong organizational, management, and technical judgment skills.
Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
Strong leadership, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational, coordination, planning, and interface skills.
A highly motivated team player with excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
Willing and able to travel as required, both domestic and international.
Experience in live Plant Operations or fabrication is a plus.
